Late April through May, or mid-September through October. Warm enough for terrace dining, cool enough for walking, and significantly fewer visitors than summer. Four nights allows you to experience the city properly without rushing. Three works if you’re combining Venice with Lake Como or continuing south. More than five and Venice can feel intense. The city is best in concentrated doses: deep immersion, then move somewhere the pace slows down.
