Duration 7 days
Tour dates Flexible
Sunrise over the Grand Canal in Venice with Santa Maria della Salute

Tour overview

A private week through Venice, Florence and Rome, planned the way I would plan it for a friend: two nights in each city, the train between them, a driver on the days you need one, and one private experience in each place.

You arrive in Venice and fly home from Rome, so you never travel back on yourself. In Venice you visit a gondola workshop. In Tuscany you spend a day in the Chianti hills with a driver. In Rome you see the Vatican and the Colosseum with a private guide.

Every day can be changed. Add a night in Rome, swap the Chianti day for a hot air balloon over the vineyards, or move the trip to a quieter month. A travel designer in Italy adapts the plan to your dates and sends you real hotels and real prices.

The day-by-day guide behind this tour, with train times door to door and what a week in Italy costs, is our 7-day Italy itinerary.

Itinerary

Arrival in Venice

Sunrise over the Grand Canal in Venice with Santa Maria della Salute

Welcome to Venice. At Marco Polo airport, a private water taxi takes you across the lagoon to your hotel, about 30 minutes. Keep the first afternoon light after the flight. In the evening, walk to Cannaregio for cicchetti and a glass of wine in a bacaro, the small wine bars where Venetians stop on the way home.
