Bespoke Tours Italy

Bespoke Tours Italy: Your Journey, Designed From Scratch

What Makes a Bespoke Italy Tour Different?

No fixed departures. No group compromises. No itinerary that looks like anyone else’s. You tell us what matters to you, and we build around that.

If you’ve spent any time searching for custom travel in Italy, you’ve probably noticed something: there are hundreds of companies, and they all sound the same. Curated this, luxury that. It’s overwhelming. We hear it from travelers all the time, people who’ve opened 30 browser tabs and still can’t tell one operator from another.

The differences are concrete.

Group tours run on someone else’s schedule. You eat where the bus stops, spend 20 minutes at a site that deserves two hours, and two hours at a gift shop that deserves none. If you’re reading this page, you probably already know they’re not for you.

Marketplace sites work differently. You fill out a form and get matched with competing travel specialists who bid for your trip. You don’t choose your planner, and the platform takes a commission.

With us, you work directly with the people who plan your trip. We’re based in Le Marche, we’ve spent decades building relationships across every region of Italy, and we build your trip ourselves. No middleman. When you call our number, you’re talking to someone who had dinner last night in the country you want to visit.

This kind of travel isn’t for everyone, and we’re comfortable saying that. But if you’re celebrating a honeymoon, planning a family vacation in Italy, marking an anniversary, or simply refusing to settle for ordinary on a trip you’ve waited years to take, this is the format that delivers.

My experience with this travel agent was superb! Our agent and his team exceeded my expectations. Communication was prompt and responsive and every detail was well thought out and organized. Being new to Italy, we really appreciated our travel agent's insight and suggestions as he helped us tweak our itinerary to exactly what we wanted. He took into account things that weren't immediately obvious to us, like weather, traffic conditions, and local business operations during the holiday month for most Italians.
I really loved that the only thing I had to worry about was buying our plane tickets. Literally, our travel agent and this company took care of every detail afterwards. We just hopped on the flight to Italy and were met every step of the way by friendly and knowledgeable people at every transfer, connection, and tour.
I would gladly work with this company again in the future and have already strongly recommended them to my colleagues.

We had a wonderful family vacation in Venice, Tuscan countryside, and Florence. They did a great job organizing our transportation, hotels, and a number of activities. The transportation help really cut down on stressful travel days and allowed us to relax. Our trip planner was very responsive and helpful over the whole course of our vacation. Can’t wait to go back!

Moreno and his team put together a wonderful and luxurious experience for me. It was arranged including small details and fun surprises, like they knew me personally. It was an amazing experience, one that I will never forget. He made my first trip to Italy a perfect experience and I knew it would not be my last trip. I have told my friends and associates, Italy Charme is the way to truly feel Italy.

ItalyCharme created the itinerary for my first holiday trip to Italy, last month. They really exceeded my expectations!! The hotels were all great, the (private) excursions were excellently organized and provided authentic experiences of the most beautiful corners of Italy. Exactly where we were looking for. All drivers and guides were super friendly and enabling us to enjoy fully our trips. I recommend everyone to use this local agency to organize your Italy trip. By the way, they are located in Italy, and the owner is always available for any questions.

How Does the Bespoke Process Work?

Five steps. From first conversation to your flight home, that’s all it takes. Most people are surprised by how simple it is once they stop trying to plan everything alone.

Step 1: Tell Us What Excites You About Italy

phone consultation icon Italy Charme bespoke process

Fill out our Plan My Trip form or call us at 1-800-413-964. This isn’t a sales pitch. It’s a conversation. We want to know what excites you about Italy, what you’ve seen before, who’s traveling with you, and what kind of pace feels right. Some people want every hour planned. Others want long afternoons with nothing on the agenda. Both work.

Time: 5-10 minutes. No obligation.

Step 2: We Design Your Custom Itinerary

Based on your conversation, we put together a detailed day-by-day itinerary. Specific hotels. Recommended experiences. Transfers and restaurants. Not generic placeholders. Real properties, real availability, real prices.

You might see a morning that starts with a private tour of the Vatican’s restoration workshops (not the public galleries, the actual workshops where conservators repair 500-year-old frescoes) followed by lunch at a trattoria in Trastevere where the owner knows us by name.

Time: 5-7 business days for your first draft.

Step 3: Refine Until It’s Perfect

itinerary refinement icon with revision marks

Your first draft is a starting point. Want to swap Lake Como for Piedmont? Add a day in Sicily? Replace the vineyard visit with a Lamborghini factory tour in Bologna? We adjust. There’s no limit on revisions. Every detail gets customized until you look at the itinerary and think: that’s exactly it.

Time: Varies. Most travelers finalize within 2-3 rounds of revisions.

Step 4: Confirm and Book

Once you approve the final itinerary, we secure everything: hotels, guides, transfers, reservations, skip-the-line entries. You’ll receive a detailed proposal showing exactly what’s included, what it costs, and what to expect each day. A 30% deposit confirms your booking, with the final balance due 90 days before departure. We accept all major credit cards and wire transfers.

Time: Booking confirmed within 48 hours of deposit.

Step 5: Travel with 24/7 Support

travel support icon with 247 assistance signal

When you land in Italy, we’re already working. Your driver is waiting. Your hotel knows your preferences. And if something changes, we handle it. Restaurant closed? Rebooking within the hour. Fell in love with a village and want to stay an extra day? We’ll rearrange the rest.

That flexibility is the whole point. An itinerary that changes shape when you do.

What Does a Bespoke Italy Tour Cost?

A bespoke Italy tour with Italy Charme typically costs between €500 and €1,000 per person per day. A 10-day journey ranges from €5,000 to €12,000 per person. We publish these numbers because you deserve to know what your investment looks like before you ever pick up the phone.

Most luxury tour operators hide their pricing. You submit a request, wait for a callback, sit through a sales conversation, and only then find out the range. We think that’s the opposite of luxury. Transparency is where trust begins.

What do different investment levels actually get you?

Experience LevelPer Person/DayWhat That Looks Like
Luxury€500-700Boutique 4-star hotels, private licensed guides, most meals included, curated experiences like cooking classes and vineyard visits, chauffeured transfers
Premium€700-1,0005-star and palace hotels, exclusive access (after-hours museums, private collections), all meals at handpicked restaurants, behind-the-scenes workshops
Bespoke Ultra€1,000+Your imagination sets the direction. Private yacht along the Amalfi Coast, helicopter transfer to a mountaintop dinner, a week in a restored 16th-century villa with a personal chef. We find a way.

What influences the price: Season (peak summer costs 20-30% more than shoulder season), accommodation choices, group size, and the types of exclusive experiences you request. A private art restoration tour in Rome at €800 per person costs more than a guided walk through Trastevere, but both belong in the same trip.

The 10-day reference: A couple traveling in shoulder season with 4-star hotels and private guides, mixing cultural and culinary experiences, can expect approximately €5,000-7,000 per person. For 5-star properties with after-hours visits and VIP access, that range moves to €8,000-12,000 per person.

You’ll receive a detailed, transparent proposal before confirming. Every line item is visible. No hidden fees, no surprise charges at the end.

What’s Included in Every Bespoke Tour?

Every journey we plan covers the essentials that make a trip feel effortless, plus details that most operators charge extra for or skip entirely. All our tours are private by design, so you’ll never share a guide or a vehicle with strangers.

Always included: airport and inter-city transfers with professional drivers, handpicked 4-5 star accommodations, dedicated English-speaking licensed guides, skip-the-line museum access, restaurant reservations, daily breakfast, 24/7 local support from our Italy-based team, and detailed digital travel documents with maps and daily itineraries. When relevant, we also arrange boat excursions, food and wine tours with local producers, and behind-closed-doors experiences like after-hours visits and artisan workshops.

Not included: international flights (many travelers prefer booking independently using points or miles), travel insurance (recommended, and we can help arrange it), meals not specified in the itinerary, and personal expenses.

Why Italy Charme for Your Bespoke Journey?

We’re an Italian company, based in Italy, that only works in Italy.

Most operators you’ll find online are headquartered in London, New York, or Sydney. They cover 50 countries. Italy is one line on their portfolio. For us, Italy is the only line. Every introduction, every restaurant, every hidden corner we share has been curated over two decades of living and working here. That focus means our network of local guides, hotel partners, and artisan contacts runs deeper than any generalist can match.

Our founder, Moreno Moretti, built Italy Charme from a genuine passion for sharing the country he grew up in. He still personally reviews complex itineraries and maintains the relationships that make our signature experiences possible, from the caviar producer in Veneto who opens his farm to visitors, to the art restorer in Rome who takes small groups into workshops closed to the public.

The press has noticed. We’ve been featured in Condé Nast Traveler, Forbes, and the Financial Times. We curated a culinary journey through Ascoli Piceno for Jamie Oliver’s magazine and designed a wine tour for Swedish TV chef Maud Onnermark. But our favourite recognition is our Google Reviews: a perfect 5.0 from travelers who came as strangers and left as friends.

We’re a founding member of The Conscious Travel Foundation, because luxury travel and responsible travel aren’t opposites.

Frequently Asked Questions About Bespoke Italy Tours

How far in advance should I book a bespoke Italy tour?

For peak season (May-September), 6-9 months ahead. The best boutique hotels in Positano and Florence book fast, and experiences like our art restoration workshops in Rome have limited spots. Shoulder season (April, October) works with 3-4 months. We’ve managed trips in 6 weeks, but more time means better options.

How is Italy Charme different from marketplace sites like Zicasso?

Marketplace sites connect you with competing travel specialists who bid for your business. The platform takes a commission, and you have limited control over who plans your trip. At Italy Charme, we craft your journey directly with our own Italy-based team. No middleman, no bidding. You work with the same people from first conversation to last airport transfer.

Is a custom tour worth the cost compared to planning everything myself?

Independent planning works for experienced travelers with 80+ hours to research and some Italian for local bookings. People who travel with us consistently say the time saved and the doors opened (after-hours visits, artisan workshops, local connections) more than justify the investment. We also negotiate hotel rates that aren’t available to individual bookers.

What’s your cancellation policy?

A 30% non-refundable deposit confirms your booking. The final balance is due 90 days before departure. For cancellations more than 60 days before travel, we refund the full amount minus the deposit. We strongly recommend travel insurance and can help you arrange a policy that covers your trip.

Can I customize one of your existing itineraries?

Nothing on our site is a fixed package. Every itinerary is a jumping-off point. Add days, swap destinations, change the pace, request specific experiences. Prefer a cooking class over a museum day? A Lamborghini factory visit instead of a vineyard afternoon? We’ll rework it. Nothing is locked in until you say it’s perfect.

What if I need to change plans during my trip?

We’re available 24/7 while you’re in Italy. Restaurant closed unexpectedly? We’ll rebook within the hour. A village stole your heart and you need another day there? We’ll rearrange the rest. Flexibility during the trip is one of the biggest advantages of tailor-made travel, and it’s something group tours and self-planned trips can’t offer.

Do you handle flights?

We focus entirely on your experience within Italy, from transfers and accommodations to guides and dining. For flights, we can recommend trusted booking partners, though many of our clients prefer to book independently using frequent flyer points or miles.

Do you only plan luxury trips, or can you work with different budgets?

Our expertise is in luxury and premium travel, but “luxury” means different things to different travelers. Some clients want palace hotels and Michelin-starred dinners. Others want a farmhouse in Umbria and meals with local families. We consider both luxury. What we don’t do is budget backpacking. If personalized service and private experiences matter to you, we’re the right fit.
