Le Marche is our favorite Italian region, just a step away from Tuscany yet completely unspoiled by tourism. It’s also where we created our first signature tour, a two-week journey through the hidden villages and illustrious tastes of the past. More recently we’ve guided television chefs like Heston Blumenthal and Maud Onnermark through the region.

    Celebrating Le Marche, this 13-day itinerary is a showcase of what can be explored in this under-visited and mostly unknown region. Expertly guided by the locals, it’s all about authentic food, rural lifestyles, cute villages and the crafts practiced by artisans. Don’t consider this tour if you want to see Italy’s famous highlights. Consider it if you want to find the heart of Italia.

    All our tours are individually customized to your interests. This day to day program was designed for previous guests of Italy Charme. While we loved guiding this private tour, it is purely an example of what can be possible and we will tailor your day to day program to your interests.


    • Private bus transfer from Rome to Ascoli Piceno (about 200 km)
    • Lunch on the way in the village Amatrice in order to taste the famous pasta all’amatriciana
    • Accomodation in double room in 4 star hotel Cento Torri (breakfast included), situated in the lovely town center of Ascoli Piceno
    • Free walk and aperitif at “Caffè Meletti”, one of the oldest cafè in Italy
    • Typical Italian dinner in the restaurant “Le Scuderie
    • Return to the hotel


    9Day 2 : Ascoli Piceno Sightseeing and visit to Medieval Village Acquaviva

    • Breakfast in hotel
    • Visit of Ascoli Piceno with an official English speaking guide
    • Lunch in Restaurant “Lorenz
    • Transfer with private bus to the medieval town Acquaviva on top of the wine hills (about 35 minutes from the hotel): sightseeing of the village together with its famous castle
    • Dinner in a local restaurant
    • Return to the hotel


    Day 3: Wine, Oil and Cheese Tasting


    • Breakfast in hotel
    • Transfer to a Cheese Farmer “La Vergara” 20 minuts away to make an interesting cheese tasting of local pecorino and other important kind
    • Lunch in the local osteria “Il Picchio” in Offida (wine included)
    • Oil Tasting in one of the best “frantoio” in Ascoli Area
    • Free time and return tothe hotel



    DAY 4 : Wine tasting and visit of Grottammare, a sea town12

    • Breakfast in hotel
    • Transfer to a biological winery (about 30 minutes from the hotel): visit and wine tasting www.lecaniette.it
    • Lunch in the restaurant “M481” in the old village of Grottamare
    • Free afternoon on the beach
    • Return to the hotel



    Day 5 : Truffle Hunting

    • Breakfast in hotel
    • Transfer to Sibillini Mountains
    • Truffle hunt in the woods with a local hunter and his dogs
    • Local Snack
    • Lunch in a local osteria “da Peppa” in order to taste local wines and a truffle based menu
    • Visit Amandola
    • Return to the hotel14


    Day 6: Dinner in a medieval castle


    • Breakfast in hotel
    • Visit of Borgo Panichi (20 minutes from the hotel), an old luxurious aristocratic family with a beautiful garden


    • Lunch in the restaurant Seghetti Panichi inside the borgo
    • Visit and Oil tasting in a frantoio in order to know the process of oil making
    • Return to the hotel
    • Special dinner in Castel di Luco, a medieval castle full of history, that was an important crossing point for the pilgrims going


    Day 7: Pottery and Wine Biodynamic tasting


    • Breakfast in hotel
    • Visit of an oldest pottery run by family Bozzi in Monteottone
    • Lunch in an osteria in Ortezzano
    • Bydionamic wine tasting in the winery “Cantina Dei Monti
    • Return to the hotel



    Day 8:  Welcome to Grottamare19

    • Breakfast in hotel
    • Free time in Ascoli Piceno
    • Check out
    • Private transfer to Grottamare
    • Accommodation in a 3 star hotel
    • Welcome Dinner in the bistrot Kursal


    Day 9:  Special Marche Cooking Class


    • Breakfast in hotel
    • Transfer to the agriturismo “Relais del Colle
    • Special Cooking class (2-3 recipes)
    • Lunch on the veranda with the dishes you have cooked


    • Free time
    • Sightseeing of the local medieval village, Ripatransone
    • Return to the hotel


    Day 10: Castle Visit and Wine Tasting

    • Breakfast in hotel24
    • Transfer to Caldarola (about 60 minutes by car)
    • Visit of the famous medieval castle Pallotta
    • Lunch in an osteria near Abbazia di Fiastra
    • Wine tasting in the afternoon
    • Return to the hotel



    Day 11: Pasta di Aldo… and special Wine tasting

    • Breakfast in hotel
    • Visit Monte San Giusto and Pasta di Aldo, a little producer of homemade egg pasta



    Day 12: Urbino… and Raffaello


    • Breakfast in hotel
    • Transfer to Urbino and sightseeing of the town with an official guide
    • Visit of the house of Raffaelo
    • Lunch  in the Osteria “La Vecchia Stella
    • Free time
    • Return to the Hotel


    Day 13: Saluti e Baci

    • Breakfast in hotel
    • Check out and transfer to Rome
    • Lunch on the way in a restaurant in Tivoli
